This is just to say that Stella  Scot has now been sold to a very happy New owner. She will stay in Denmark, but I am sure the New owner will join the group at some point.

    Hello John,

That is great news that “Stella Scot” is on your shortlist. 🙂

We think that she is a fantastic boat too. Regarding VAT I am not sure what the rules are now, but she has been in our ownership ( my dad is the owner) for 25 years and danish VAT has been paid. Thats 25 percent, so maybe you can deduct that and pay only the UK VAT?

Regarding the logistics T am sure we can arrange something, by road or by delivery. Or maybe we could sail her some of the way and you could take over – maybe from Kiel?

    Just a thought.

Please dont hesitate to contact me for more info 🙂

    Hello all,

Has anyone tried using a shower curtain, not on a rail but small suking discs (is it called that in English??) on the deckhead – which is a smooth inner moulding?

    Kind regards

    Hello Federico,

I actually have never seen the original cockpit seets since they were removed from Stella Scot before we bought her (stolen?). But we have made some very nice seats in stainless steel which can be removed completely when in port. I will try and take some Pictures of them soon, if you are interested.

    kind regards

    Hi John,

I think our setup is a Little different, having rewired the boat many years ago. It only has one big fuse under the chart table with a switch. But thanks for the advice:-) by the way, do you know if I can get to the Electric motor by removing the large metal plate on se front of the windlass? ( I think its the front…)

    Kind regards

Hello mike and Steve, thanks for the advice;-). But instead of opening the solenoid, wouldnt i get a direct lead with eg a starter cable between the two poles on the solenoid?
Can i get to the motor spindle without removing the whole windlass? Or maybe im not quite sure what a spindle translates into in danish;-)?

    Hello Mike,

Thanks very much, I think Solenoid was the english term I couldn’t remember yesterday when posting the question here:-)

But is it correct to assume that the solenoid is

working on the positive cable, and the other heavy cable going to the windlass is the negative on?

I am thinking, would it be possible to test the

motor by taking a positive cable direct to the windlass and thereby “bypassing” the solenoid?

    Hi Marilyn,
Thanks for your reply. I think I will take an idea from it, which is to find a “top matress” (not sure what it is called in english, but a thinner mattress on top of the regular one. I think one of these, made to a triangle will solve my problem of sleeping on the harder bits.

Another thing, do you have a heater on board, and what kind?

    Kind regards
    Kenneth

    Hi Van,

Thank you very much for your picture. “StellaScot” has the same forecabin with the slats forward of the bunks. So it was mainly the structural aspect I was curious about:-). We have an infil cushion in the triangle between the bunks, but it was not made at the yard, we are sure. It is quite hard on the hips if you lie on some of the edges holding the matresses into place.Any ideas how to overcome this:-)?

    Kind regards
    Kenneth
