Currently, I own and run the national Same Day Courier Company – PROcourier Limited – delivering to the UK and EU countries, but am now coming to the age when I will have the opportunity to fulfil my lifetime ambition of extended sailing with my wife Linda. There are the obvious issues before this can be fulfilled. I will need to sell PROcourier and have to find the correct vessel for the job. I feel with the Nic 38 that I have found the right combination of size, space, seaworthiness, and hopefully price. However, it will be at least 2013 before I can realistically start looking seriously, as the business plan is to sell PROcourier Limited during that year. – I am not one of those people who just likes looking at other peoples boats without the intention of buying, so I will not start the physical search before then. As a sailor, I started learning to sail at the age of 9 on a clinker built “Gull” at St Anthony in Roseland and have not stopped learning since. I have done a couple of Fastnet Races in the 90’s, crossed Biscay with Linda on a chartered Vancouver 32 and spent 20 happy years as a volunteer mate / sailing instructor aboard the Tall Ship (70 foot Ketch) James Cook, helping young people to enjoy my passion. This is where I got the ketch bug! http://www.sailjamescook.com/ I have joined the Owners’ Group to expand my preparation knowledge of the Nic 38 before buying, and with the hope that one day I can meet some like minded people who will share a glass of wine with me and Linda on our new acquisition. I will be delighted if anybody has any advice for me, and from 2013 onwards, point me towards my Nic 38, I will be more than thankful. Regards Peter & Linda Reynolds
