I own the S/V Keneskoonech (hull @25 built in 1968). The registration plate reads 10.93 tons but I have no official reference to whether they are short or long/Imperial tons nor being displacement, net or gross tonnage. I would oversize it for reasons of safety; especially the hull attachment arrangement.

Harken H3275) as guides which would also restrict water ingress. Extending outside, build a cover perhaps 15 inches long to further restrict water ingress with the fairleads at the front again. I look forward to additional suggests.

This Perkins 4108 is also used in Massey Ferguson tractors so I was able to get a new starter for $546. Can. from boyletractor.com and kept the old one which got rebuilt locally for an emergency spare. I also changed the ignition switch to a push start switch.

I haven’t been keeping up with Nicholson38.org.
Having had the Keneskoonech for 10 months, I realize you spell boat with 2 t’s – bring out another ten thousand. I am pleased with my purchase but also concur with other owners that switched out the keyed ignition for a push button as I also lost a starter motor but replaced it with a new starter. Instead of Perkins parts, I have found Massey Ferguson (tractor) parts more readily available and less expensive in Canada and the U.S.A.. I never thought of bi-metal electrolysis when I reconditioned all my windows while using s/s bolts so I have work next spring insulating the s/s but at least I fixed the leaky windows before any structural damage occurred and replaced the vinyl on the interior bulkheads.
I thank the contributors on the mizzen sagging posts – I have a minor deflection their suggestions will correct.
Wishing all smooth sailing.

As this happened while I was being launched last week for the season, I had more on my mind and didn’t realize the starter was still engaged in time. Besides the starter, I replaced the key start switch with a better spring action release.
