Darren is hopeful he will be buying a Nic 38 soon – he has already located the one he hopes to buy. He asked to join the forum so he can learn more.
Welcome Darren, and I hope the purchase goes well.
December 2, 2015 at 11:54 #25871VoltairParticipantHi Darren – have you already spent some time aboard a Nic 38?
If not, and you want to get the feel of it before committing yourself to purchase, why not come and join us on Voltair on one or more of our legs in the Adriatic next season.
At the moment, we (Robin and I) jointly own and share 50-50, but are looking to expand to 3 or even 4 shares, or (as we have already done a 15 year stint) an eventual sale.
Voltair has been to a high proportion of the interesting ports in Western Europe during our ownership and is currently exploring the western and central Med. She is in Preveza, Greece, right now, on the concrete ready to re-start in April, we think.
Website is at http://www.voltair.org.uk/voltair/
though once I’ve fixed it, it will change to http://www.voltair.org.ukRegards, John Kingsley

I am looking for a yacht, preferably a ketch, with 2 double cabins. Personally I like aft cabins hence the Nic 38 interest.
I spent many of my adult working years on yachts (motor unfortunately) plying the worlds seas. For the past few years I have been land based representing clients and building their boats. Now I want to get myself a sailing yacht. Being based in a shipyard in Northern France, I thought a centre cockpit with a good design to keep you dry, again the Nic 38. I have about 1 more year in this yard before moving onto another project so a bit of a “fixer upper” would suit me well. I can tinker away on it while I finish this one. This is what we are currently building: http://www.globalexploreryachts.com
for a wealthy European client. Thanks John, I’ll keep you in mind but I hope to be owning within a few months time. I’d like to get it knocked out ready for a bit of sailing by the Summer.
Best regards

Have you got a site where I can have a look at a few photos? I am looking at vessels somewhere around the Western Med as I will need to survey, and then get it to where I am. Anyway if you have some photos then I’ll gladly have a look.
darrennightingale@yahoo.comThanks for the reply, and I hope you guys are having a great Summer. It has really chilled off up here in the last 2 weeks, been a good and mild Winter so far though.
Cheers
