How to create a new topic in a forum

Here I describe how to add a new topic. To reply to an existing topic, see here.

To add a topic to a forum, you must be logged in. The login box is to the right just under the banner image. If you have forgotten your password, use the provided link to have your password emailed to you. If you still cannot get logged in, send me an email at moderator(at)nicholson38.org (replace (at) with @).

Once you are logged in, to add a topic to a forum:
1. Select the forum category where you want to add a new topic. To do this, click on Discussion Forum in the menu under the header, and then on the Forums page, decide which forum is the best category for your new topic. Click on the forum name to open a new window.
2. Once in the correct forum category, you see a list of all existing topics. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you will see a Create New Topic in (Forum Name) area.
3. Type a title for the topic, and then type the topic text. If you know HTML markup, you can use it, but it is not necessary to do so.
4. Once you are done typing, click the Submit button below the typing area.
