Can anyone tell me the position on the hull for the original, standard, beaching legs. Distance fore and aft and from capping rail. Is it just a hole in the hull with a large bolt for the leg when in use and a shorter one to block the hole when they are not in use. Is the area of the hole strengthened in any way? Where do those with the legs stow them on board? Thanks in anticipation, John.
Jeremy Lines produced a CD of Nic 38 engineering drawings. If you look on that at file 074.tif, you can see a marking for the hole. See below. There may be more instances of the beaching legs on other drawings. It’s further forward than I expected. I don’t know anything about how it was made or used, but it would be interesting to know!
Sorry, not getting message alerts to my email account as previously, but Jeremy Lines sent me a note with quite a few details attached.. it is a 6 page document but although I have split it into separate jpg pages, I cannot post it here for some reason, I get a warning… if you email me on adrian-weston@hotmail.co.uk John I can let you have a copy. Regards, Adrian.
