Jeremy Lines, the volunteer Camper & Nicholsons archivist (and former C&N designer that worked on the Nic 38) has prepared an excellent CD that contains:
– a searchable copy of the original Nicholson 38 handbook/manual, included updates that Jeremy added while retyping into an electronic form (available as PDF and DOC file)
– scanned copies of about 30 original drawings, such as sail plans, docking plans, general arrangement, hull and deck construction (available as TIF files)

This is valuable information for any of us that own one of these classic sailing vessels.

Jeremy has graciously offered to post a CD to your UK or international address for a reasonable fee.

To get your copy follow these easy steps.

1. Log into PayPal (if you are not a member either sign on or contact Jeremy at email shown in step 3 below and arrange to send a cheque in UK funds)
2. After signed on to PayPal, select Send Money
3. Transfer £32.50 to the account of Jeremy Lines (2015 price)
4. Send an e-mail to Jeremy advising him that you have done the transfer and providing a delivery address
5. Sit back and wait for the CD to be delivered.

I’ve the user manuals for just about all the non-C&N accessories on my Nic38 (Hornet 4 for example). Many of them date back to the original commissioning of the vessel. I’ve an 18 inch pile of assorted paperwork.

Let me know if you have something which needs a manual – I might have it on Harlequin of Kerrera. Its easy enough to photo or scan most documents.

I’m a bit desperate for the Mathway Steering manual – do you have that? We cannot figure out how to open the oil bath chambers so check the oil level.

On Rainshadow, we also have many original manuals, sans the Mathway one. For example, we have the Nico autopilot manual. So we also offer to scan manuals if someone needs one.

Thanks for the suggestion, Jeremy. I tried emailing them a few months ago, and they did not respond. But if at first you don’t succeed, try try again.
