Hi Rob, I removed the steps to forehatch in Grey Wolf to replace the bulkhead lining. The screw heads are gelcoated over in the wc, you may have to remove the mirror above the toilet and the inlet and outlet hoses to gain access to them. You should be able to see where they are as the gelcoat covering the screws is probably not a perfect match with the moulding. Drill and chisel to access the screw head screwdriver slot. I think that there are three relatively large long screws per step. They unscrewed relatively easily considering they had been in place for forty years, and were refitted once lining replaced.

Grey Wolf has a Vetus M4.17 (marinised Mitsubishi) Engine 42Hp complete with TMC60E 2:1 gearbox, fitted in 2011 by NWAME, I am happy with it, had no problems with it. It replaced a Mermaid Meteor II (marinised Ford) which had given 16 years service, it in turn replaced the original 4107 that threw a small end and would have required a set of four new pistons and cylinders and new gearbox.
