Morning all,
Has anyone had to replace any of the white nylon stanchion-cones that are inserted into the top of the stanchions & hold the top guardwire in place.? If so, where did you get them.? I can’t find a supplier in catalogues at all.
Thanks,

… 5 yrs later, but do you still have some of those stanchion tops?I’ve got a broken one on one of my gates so I thought I’d replace all 4 either side of the gates.
Thanks

This might help. Have attached extract from a post entered some 17 years ago following an extended cruise. The switch is stylish and will give you 4 additional stanchion caps too!
“One interesting ‘reno’, in Mazatlan, well known for it’s stainless steel trades, replaced the upper lifeline from pushpit to the side gates with 1″s/s rails. Easy to install by removing the plastic stanchion caps and what a difference it makes on the afterdeck on a cold dark night! ”
I have some pictures (if only I knew how to enter) and can always take more

Thanks for your reply and that sounds like an interesting solution. (with added benefits)
To insert images, make sure the editor is set to the Visual tab at the top right, click the little landscape button (or shift+Alt+M) then you can upload your image.
In the popup box put 300 in both of the ‘dimension’ boxes and leave constrain proportions checked.

I don’t know if they will fit, but they look similar to the original caps.

That looks really interesting and I like that it is reversible in the future if required
September 14, 2021 at 03:14 #27056ModeratorKeymasterRoger posted photos correctly the first time, it was the moderator who had the site setup in a silly way that stopped his photos from posting on submission.
My apologies to those of you who’ve tried to upload more than 2 photos, or add more than 2 links to your postings, and they seemed to disappear. The problem was site security was automatically upgrade to require moderation for any forum postings with more than 2 links. I’ve now changed the limit for moderation to 10 links – so hopefully no one else will be frustrated by posts seemingly disappearing!
