Hi All,
I recently lost the small circlip which keeps the No. 8 winches in one piece. A crew member was hauling up the mainsail from the side deck on Ronar M. This put too much pressure on the circlip and it pinged overboard. Luckily he and the winch stayed on board. To cut a long story of a long search as short as I can, Lewmar cannot supply these circlips any more – the winches on Ronar are 1972 originals. However I did found out that the circlips are ‘spirolox’ clips and a quick google led me to a supplier in the uk. I have had to buy 10 at £6.09 each and only need one (plus maybe a spare) so I have 8 to distribute at cost to Nic 38 owners. If interested now or in the future, let me know
