Hello Marilyn and Nicholson 38 Owners,
Thank you for your welcome and help. It is great to know that you are there and that Interim can be part of your group.
Interim was originally named ‘Avocet of Burseldon’ but her name was changed to ‘Interim’ in 1973. From the details on the Bill of sale, I gather that she was sold in 1974 to the couple from whom we purchased her in 1997 . In fact , we kept her on the same berth in Birdham Pool, Chichester, until we took the momentous decision to take her to Estepona, on the Costa del Sol, Spain, and then to Santa Pola . We enjoyed many happy times, sailing, socialising and exploring, on and off shore! The people we met and the friends we made are treasured memories.
In 2018, it was time to bring Interim back to Eastbourne as my husband’s health made travel difficult. On her return she had a good overhaul: the standing rigging was renewed, mast and deck lights checked and replaced, and sails laundered and repaired. A new Furlex roller reefing system replaced the Rotastay.
And now, after a lot of soul searching, I have reluctantly realised that Interim needs to move on ….
