Hi
Prospero is in Grenada and having are fit. The mizzen problem was solved with little drama. The deck could be another matter.
The problem. The teak cap screws are coming out or the heads have come off many and it is possible to compress either side of it . The cap rail will have to come off in places as water must be getting in.
What I would like to know is what was the construction method used to join hull and deck and the part the cap rail plays.
Many thanks
Tom
Dear Tom,
The deck is laminated to the hull with 3 layers of 2 oz mat, 3″ on the hull and 3″ on the deck. The space between the top of the hull and the up stand of the deck is resin filled with no doubt some filler where the space is greater. The outer teak rail and teak rail cap are screw fastened and dowelled but are not structural.
Yours Jeremy.
