    Hello all. Has anyone replaced the original flush fitting lazarette hatch? Mine leaks and any advice or tips would be very welcome. Thanks. Pat Sea Thrift.

    Hi Pat,
    I just rebuilt mine as the part with hinges had failed due to water getting in via the screws (not bedded or sealed properly), and the freeze-thaw cycle cracking it apart. But the main part of it is still fine. I ground off the gelcoat and dug out the wood inside, and replaced it all with epoxy and fiberglass. I have not yet replaced the foam/rubber seals.
    It would seem to be quite a project to make a new one!
