FUEL TANK CONNECTORS

I have been trying to find fittings to fit in my fuel tank hatch, one to allow me to install anew fuel pick up point and another to return ‘polished fuel.
Have been trying lots of sites but not much luck so far.

I am installing an electric pump to suck fuel through a sedimentor filter, and return it back to the tank. The pump will also double up as a standby pump, and can also be a fast way to bleed filters via a 3 way brass valve saving manual pumping.I can run the polisher with the flick of a switch
If anyone knows where I can find the fittings would be very grateful.
Also happy to let anyone see the diagram of how it works.

On Rainshadow, we did a similar thing, that is – adding a dedicated fuel polishing loop. You can read the details of it here:

Cleaning the Fuel Tank – How we took off the fuel tank cover plate and added new fuel pickup lines.

To add the new fuel pickup lines to the fuel tank, we took off the coverplate and sent it to a mechanic that had a machine shop who could tap the plate so we could thread in the new fittings. The fittings are just standard copper gas fitting connectors that we bought at the local hardware store. The mechanic also braised on the copper lines that we used as the fuel pickup lines Look at the pictures and read the text at the link I give above for more info about how we did the fuel pickup lines, and you can see if our Rainshadow has the same setup as your boat. Hope that helps.

Thank you for your help, I have studied what you have done which is so well archived and informative. I think I have found some BSP fittings which will be ideal, will either drill and tap the access hatch in situ, if I can find a way to catch the swarf that is, or remove it as you did.
