    Hi to the Nic team , Sadly on my arrival in Australia from Turkey on my Nic. 42, I have encountered local Propane regulations (there are some parallelsto NZ)ho awever a NZ compliant stove is not acceptable in Australia even though the regulations for installation are applicable in Both Australia and NZ which I find absurd, plus why in these times where there is such facility in communications do humans continue to be disagreeable and are unable to unify safety regs. . This will be a big hurdle for George Soros and the illuminated (Somebody plug them in 240V please!)and their one world government.
    Well the issue is my poor Eno which is an older model is being forced to be obsolete (so wasteful as it could be upgraded )?? I have checked all topics an no one has discussed any preference for Galley Stoves…… whether if be a Neptune ,a Nelson or another Eno.
    Force 10 being of the Canada, US size, would be a very tight fit and even to fit a Neptune, I would have to raise the gimble pivot point………. So is it Neptune, OZ Cert or Eno Oz cert and overprices or Smev who seem to have disappeared after getting approval in OZ? No I don’t like alcohol stoves and there arent stoves available in Kerosene only some in Diesel,
    Diesel stoves are a big heat sink and that is not appropriate in tropical Northern Australia.

    By the way Alcohol is banned in China at retail sales.

    Hi there Barry,
    Mine came with the boat & has been very reliable. It’s a Techimpex 2x burner with Toaster/Grill & oven. It runs on Propane or Butane gas & sits on gimbals in the space adjacent to the galley sink, with plenty of clearance all round. I have a cut-off on the port bulk-head behind it & then an isolation gizmo in the aft lazarette locker.
    Never had a problem with it in 10 years so thoroughly recommend it.

    Are you saying the Auzzies won’t let you use your existing propane stove? Is that because you are importing your boat, or are you just visiting?
    We are currently in Hawaii and pondering our next voyages. Eventually, most paths lead to NZ/Aus. Our original installed stove obviously won’t pass muster!
    Besides, I’d like to rebuild the galley. Not very convenient for use during a long passage. So very interested in what you learn.

    What a bloody saga I have had as I saw another ENO advertised in the Gumtree net. I picked it up and had a conversation with Andrea regarding her boat.Andrea charged me $20 for a nice non compliant newer model ENO with missing burners as mine is a Museum piece of the 60’s with no parts available.
    Andrea said that she had an Endurance and I commented that I had previously owned one and restored her, then sailed from Malaysia to Darwin and I further commented that the Endurance is a fantastic single handed sea going cruiser.
    On the Following weekend I had a call from Andrea and she said lets have a coffee at the marina nearby to the one that I am moored at. So I went over and after a chat with her and her Husband
    at the Cafe. When Andrea said come and look at our boat, I replied that I would love to see their boat.
    Ha! Her Boat! what a shock it was, my old boat that had thousands of hours spent on it to bring it back to being a seaworthy vessel from a hulk with osmosis and a hogged deck.
    Yes it was now Andrea’s boat and I had bought the stove from it. Heres the catch it wasn’t the original stove and I couldn’t believe that the stove was left to fall into such disrepair by the previous owner over a short period 15 years?
    The Moral is, clean your stove daily. There were also rusted zinc plated MILD STEEL gas feeder pipes so one must be wary of the Eno. I now an restoring a Force 10 but they do not sell a replacement burner for the oven (the old obsolescence trick)
    The Force 10 was on a boat with a gas compliance certificate but here is the punch line: The Queensland Gas Association says the Force 10 is not Compliant !
    I am thinking of a Nelson 2 burner at $1600 or just having cold cuts and cold drinks and forget the stove an put a seat there for Granny !
    Incidentally, the Nelson has good reports in the UK.
