    Steve,

Many thanks for the quick response – ironic that our boats are both having new masts from the same rigger within a few months of each other! They have said that I need a new mast so suspect we will be getting a double spreader Selden mast like I think you’ve got. Would appreciate any tips or pitfalls to look out for with the new mast. Cheers, Ollie

Hi Ollie, Disaster, I have just had my old mast replaced with a new Selden mast, unfortunately the old one was disposed of quickly and i only managed to keep a couple of good sections, I gather you are based at Sparks boat yard on Hayling Island, I could pop over with the bits at the weekend if you are desperate.. best regards Steve

Hi Ollie, It is probably worth you popping over to Port Solent and taking a look at “Rubys Rascal”, I did have to make quite a few modifications to the plug that the old mast sat in and you do need to reshape the various holes through the deck, heads etc, best regards Steve

    Dear Ollie,
It may be no help but the 38 mast is identical to the Nicholson 32 of which there are quite a number about.

    Yours Jeremy Lines.
