    My Zodiac dinghy is fading and I intend replacing it with an AB Lammina UL8 and that necessitates fitting davits.

    I’ve read the info in the manual about the davits that were originally fitted to the Nic 38s but I am not entirely clear as to how they were originally intended to work. Can anyone share pics of their davits and offer any advice regarding the best type, installation, ease of use, etc? The boat is based in Trinidad so I will be able to get a local SS business to manufacture and fit them.
    Any advice will be gratefully received.

    Following on from my original post – can anyone with davits tell me the external dimensions of their dinghy please? The dinghy I have in mind is 2.76 metres x 1.5 metres. The beam at the boat’s stern is 1.6 metres which means that the dinghy will protrude by 29 cm each side. Is this feasible?
